Privacy Policy

Venture Nexus has not launched. Right now this site does one thing with personal information: it takes your name, your email address and a sentence about what you are building, so we can tell you when early access opens. This page says exactly what is collected, where it goes, and how to get it removed.

01  Who is responsible

Venture Nexus is an independent software project based in Canada. Youhana Michail is accountable for how personal information is handled here and acts as the privacy contact. Reach that contact at venturenexus1@gmail.com. Any question, correction or deletion request in this policy goes to that address, and it is answered by a person, not a form.

02  What this policy covers

This policy covers venturenexus.ca and the early-access list you can join from it. The Venture Nexus Mac application has not been released. When it is, the way it handles your plans, work sessions and account data will be described here before it ships — nothing in this policy should be read as a description of an app you cannot yet download.

03  What we collect

What you type into the form

• Your name — used to address the emails we send you.
• Your email address — the only way we can reach you at launch.
• What you are building — a free-text answer. Please keep it to your own business. Do not put confidential information, other people's personal information, or anything you would not want stored in it.

Nothing is submitted until you press the button. Closing the form sends nothing.

Where you came from

On your first visit the page records how you arrived, so we can tell which channels are worth continuing and which are not. That record is:

• the campaign tags in the link you followed, if it had any — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and ref;
• the address of the site that linked to you, if your browser sent one (links from venturenexus.ca to itself are discarded);
• the page address you first landed on, and the time you landed;
• a short label derived from those, such as linkedin, search or direct.

This is kept in your own browser under the key vn_attr_v1 — in localStorage, or in sessionStorage if your browser blocks the first, or only in memory if it blocks both. It stays on your device and is sent to us only if and when you submit the form. If you never sign up, we never receive it. Clearing your browser's site data for venturenexus.ca erases it.

Your appearance preference

Choosing Light or Dark stores vn-theme in your browser. It is never sent anywhere.

Your IP address

When you submit the form, the endpoint that receives it records your IP address to count how many signups have come from one place in a short window. That is a defence against a script flooding the list, and it is the only thing the IP address is used for. It is not attached to your signup record and it is not used to identify you or to guess your location.

Ordinary server logs

The companies that host the site and receive the form keep short-lived operational logs — requests, timestamps, IP addresses, error traces — as any web host does. They are used to keep the site up, not to build a profile of you.

04  Why we collect it, and your consent

Three purposes, and no others:

• To tell you when early access opens, and to send a small number of messages before then about how the product works.
• To understand which channels bring people who actually sign up, so effort goes where it works.
• To stop abuse of the signup endpoint.

You give consent by filling in the form and submitting it; the form says what it is for at the point you use it. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. If we ever wanted to use what you gave us for a purpose that is not on this list, we would ask you first.

You can withdraw consent at any time — see Your rights. The only consequence is that we stop emailing you and remove your record, which also means you will not hear about launch.

05  Who else handles it

We use four service providers. The first three process your information on our instructions, for the purposes above, and for nothing of their own:

• Supabase — the database that stores the list, and the serverless function that receives the form.
• Resend — delivers the emails we send you, and holds your name and email address for that purpose.
• Vercel — hosts and serves this website.
• Meta — receives, through the Pixel described above, that a page was viewed and that a signup happened, with no name, email or form content attached. Unlike the other three, Meta also uses what it collects for its own advertising and measurement purposes, under its own policies.

Beyond those, information is disclosed only where the law requires it — a valid court order, warrant, or comparable legal obligation — or where it is necessary to investigate a credible threat to the service or to someone's safety. If Venture Nexus is ever sold or merged, the list could move to the acquirer as part of the business; you would be told before that happened, and this policy would continue to apply until you were given a new one.

06  Where it is stored

Our database and email provider run on servers in the United States. Personal information you give us is therefore stored and processed outside Canada, and while it is there it is subject to the laws of that country — including lawful access by United States courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. By joining the list you understand that this is where your information goes. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not submit the form; you can email us instead and we will simply reply when we launch.

07  How long we keep it

Your signup is kept while the early-access programme is running and for up to 24 months after launch, so we can tell an early supporter from a new arrival. After that it is deleted unless you have become a customer, in which case a separate policy for the product will apply and will be sent to you. The abuse-prevention records tied to IP addresses are short-lived and are overwritten as their time window expires. If you ask us to delete you, we do it within 30 days and keep only the minimum needed to make sure you are not re-added by an old list.

08  Email, and how to stop it

Joining the list means we will email you: a confirmation immediately, a small number of messages before 21 September 2026 about how Venture Nexus works, and one message when early access opens. That is the whole programme. We do not send email on anyone else's behalf.

To stop receiving them: reply to any message we send you with the word unsubscribe, or email venturenexus1@gmail.com with the address you signed up with. It costs nothing, it is acted on as soon as we see it and in no case later than 10 business days, and you do not have to give a reason. Every message we send identifies Venture Nexus as the sender and carries a contact address that stays valid for at least 60 days.

09  Your rights

Whatever else your local law gives you, everyone on this list can:

• Ask what we hold about you, and get it in a readable form.
• Correct it if it is wrong — a misspelled name, a changed address.
• Withdraw consent and be deleted. Say the word and the record goes.
• Ask how a decision was made, and to whom your information has been disclosed.

Write to venturenexus1@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us which address to look up. We answer within 30 days and we do not charge for it. There is no account to log into and no hoop to jump through.

If you are in Canada and you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first, but you are not required to.

10  Security

The site and the signup endpoint are served over HTTPS. Access to the database and to the email provider is limited to the keys that need it, those keys are held as server-side secrets and never appear in the pages you download, and the number of people who can read the list is one. We do not collect payment details, passwords, government identifiers or anything else of that kind, because nothing here needs them. No system is perfect; if a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would tell you and the relevant regulator, promptly and plainly.

11  Children

Venture Nexus is a tool for people running companies. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, tell us and we will remove the record.

12  Changes to this policy

When this changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is material — a new purpose, a new recipient, a new category of information — we will say so by email to the people on the list before it takes effect, rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
